Deaf, Tattooed, and Employed
Deaf, tattooed, and employed was a passion project that was built from recognition of my own self worth and the desire to break down barriers, stereotypes and stigmas. While traveling abroad in 2018, I made it my personal mission to learn about the deaf and hard of hearing communities in different parts of the world, from connecting with a deaf village in Bali to meeting the founders of a hearing technology museum in Buenos Aires, in addition to sharing stories of my own experiences with hearing loss. The writings have since led to contributing roles with Esteem and HearingLikeMe. On a broader and bigger scale, this project is about sharing your story, your diff-abilities, your insecurities and learning to embrace the unknown.
